HOUSTON – Trial lawyer Derek Merman of Houston-based Heard Law Firm PLLC has earned recognition on the 2019 Texas Super Lawyers list, a peer-review guide to the state’s top attorneys.
It is the sixth consecutive year Mr. Merman has been named to the prestigious listing that honors no more than 5 percent of lawyers in Texas. He was selected based on his personal injury representation of plaintiffs.
Mr. Merman has won significant jury verdicts and settlements for those harmed through corporate negligence in catastrophic accidents or by dangerous products. His commitment to seeking justice for those wronged is personal. As a child, he lost his father in a plane crash due to aviation defects.
Before his first Texas Super Lawyers selection in 2014, Mr. Merman was recognized by Texas Rising Stars, which lists the top young lawyers age 40 or younger. Mr. Merman also has been honored among the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in Texas by the National Trial Lawyers Association since 2009.
